Public Television's Award Winning Health & Fitness Show for Children Debuts in Los Angeles and surrounding Counties on April 9, 2007

New York, NY. April 5, 2007. Kid Fitness, public television's award winning health and fitness show, will be inspiring children to get off the couch and exercise when it begins airing on local PBS station, KLCS, on Mondays at 2:00 pm starting April 9, 2007. All thirteen interactive episodes will be available in analog and high definition formats with a runtime of approximately 30 minutes.

The KLCS coverage area extends from Santa Barbara to San Diego, reaching a potential viewing audience of over five million households in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, and San Diego Counties. Kid Fitness will also be available through KLCS classroom instructional television programming (CITV) that reaches over 150 school districts throughout Southern California. KLCS, the education station, is one of only eight television stations in the nation that is licensed to a K-12 school district.

"We recognize that we face a nation-wide problem of childhood obesity and value the importance of encouraging kids to be physically active and exercise their bodies as well as their minds," says Jorge E. Brisen'o, Director, Instructional Television, KLCS. "We believe Kid Fitness compliments KLCS' instructional program block and will provide our young viewers with plenty of motivation to get active and make healthy choices."

Backed by an Emmy award winning directing and writing team, the live, interactive public television series designed for two to eight year olds, features a super health hero and his animal friends on a tropical jungle set. Shot in High Definition, each episode incorporates physical activity, healthy recipes, nutrition tips, original music and edu-adventure storylines designed to get children moving and developing healthy habits to help prevent sedentary lifestyles, obesity and health related issues. Segments feature age-appropriate concepts in the sciences (physical, biological, zoological), and in geographic and multicultural literacy. Social issues that affect children such as team work, bullying, and caring for the environment, are also included.

The mission for Kid Fitness, delivered through its television, school programs and website, is to engage, educate and inspire children to make healthy choices on their own regarding physical activity and nutrition at a young age. "The magnitude of the childhood obesity epidemic prompted the creation of our Kid Fitness television series and related programs," says Jon Reese, President and CEO of Kid Fitness. "Having public television and KLCS partner with us on our programming and school initiatives shows their shared passion in our mission."

This season's lineup includes a host of dynamic new exercises and the exploration into exotic locations in Japan, Brazil, Australia, Italy, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Antarctica and Africa where viewers learn about animals and the country's customs. Episode titles are: Buster Gets the Blues, Jungle Jamboree, Going Going Gone, Souper Douper Day, Markey Business, Sugar the Sloth, Jungle Luau, The Great Soda Standoff, Annie Get your Fun, Buster's School Daze, Big Little Buster, The Cranky King and Ready, Set, Race.

In order to create the best possible content for all Kid Fitness programs, an Advisory Board comprised of experts in the fields of physical education, nutrition, education, childhood obesity and pediatric medicine was developed. Kid Fitness programs are supported by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE). "We fully support Kid Fitness programs and view them as dynamic tools to increase physical activity in children both at home and at school," says Charlene R. Burgeson, NASPE Executive Director.
