The National Association for Sport and Physical Education Partners with Kid Fitness to Promote Health to America's Youth through Physical Activity

NEW YORK, NY, January 22, 2007 — In an effort to help fight the childhood obesity epidemic, the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), this country's preeminent national authority on physical education and a recognized leader in sport and physical activity, has partnered with Kid Fitness LLC to promote health and wellness by inspiring children across the nation to become more physically active.

Kid Fitness is a multi-faceted program designed to get young children moving and developing healthy physical activity and nutritional habits through their Kid Fitness public television series and through their "Kid Fitness for Schools" program, Kid Fitness Activity DVDs and Kid Fitness website. In order to create the best possible content for all Kid Fitness programs, an Advisory Board comprised of experts in the fields of physical education, nutrition, education, and pediatric medicine, was developed.

"We are pleased to be forging this new relationship with Kid Fitness as we see tremendous value in what this company is doing to inspire children to become more active. We fully support their programs and view them as dynamic tools to increase physical activity in children both at home and at school," says Charlene R. Burgeson, NASPE Executive Director.

As part of the partnership, NASPE will lend their expertise and support to Kid Fitness. They will do so by being an educational consultant for all Kid Fitness programs in addition to being an active member on the Kid Fitness Advisory Board. Dr. Stephen Virgilio, chairperson and professor in the Department of Health Studies, Physical Education and Human Performance Science at Adelphi University and co-principal investigator of the nationally known Heart Smart Program, a comprehensive CV health intervention for school-aged children, has been appointed by NASPE to be the expert consultant to Kid Fitness. Dr. Virgilio will assist in the development of the physical education content for the Kid Fitness public television series, activity DVDs and school programs.

"Having NASPE on our team brings invaluable credibility and expertise to Kid Fitness," says Paul Neville, Founder and CEO of Kid Fitness LLC. "Kid Fitness has been a lifelong dream of mine to help fight the ever increasing childhood obesity epidemic. With this partnership and the newly announced "Kid Fitness for Schools" program roll-out with New York City's Department of Education into over 8400 of their classrooms next month, my dream is about to become a reality."
